Tradition of Kovolit Česká dates back to 1936 when we started with building and production of drink fittings and bell-casting. Bell-casting had been done by Mr Manousek by 1953. Afer that this production was moved to Zbraslav. The production of drink fittings was finished in 1990.
Present situation

Nowadays Kovolit Česká specializes in production of aluminium sandcasting and moulds. Our 50 years´ experience in this field represents profound knowledge that can be seen in quality and accuracy of our deliveries. Total annual production is roughly 900tons of Al moulds per year. The main customers are engineering, textile and construction companies. The weight of aluminium casts are from 0.10kg 400kg. Our foundry offers models, moulds, cores and a process of sand drying. Due to customers´ wishes we also provide heat treatment, hardening, x-ray of aluminium moulds and testing of mechanical qualities of materials. A mechanical work-shop, that provides cast machining, milling, turning, grinding, drilling, varnishing and production of mechanical parts from all kinds of materials (Al, Ms, steel, stainless steel, plactic and others), is a part of our company. C. Melchers & Co. was established on January 1, 1806 in Bremen, where the global company still maintains its headquarters to this very day.

In the first few decades of the company’s history, over 30 ships sailed the oceans of the world under the Melchers flag, linking the ports of Europe, America and the Pacific.

Established in 1994, ROMPRODUS is a privately-owned company based on entirely Romanian private capital.

Given the difficult economical conditions of those years, the company took its first hesitating steps in the field of die-stamping products, by purchasing two die-stamping machines on loan, working initially on customer-owned stamping-dies and on rented property. Moreover,the first employees were the two share-holders themselves.

Our first top-class customer, DACIA S.A., was a tremendous boost for the company,opening the way for a long-term collaboration, so that, for over a decade, ROMPRODUS made and sold tens of millions of brass vehicle-wiring connectors.

The steady growth of the business enabled the construction of new manufacturing premises, from personal financial resources. On the other hand, by the year 2001 we were in the position to be able to export new products to our first foreign customer, HECO HANDELS AG from Switzerland, a dealer in aluminium-blinds manufacturing, which is presently our main customer.

The company manufactures a wide range of products, namely:

* parts mounting devices and subunits for aluminium blinds
* die-stamped parts for the electrotechnical, vehicle, furniture and construction industry
* plastics-moulded and die-casting components (only zinc alloy)

The strong point of the company is the fact that we are able both to design and manufacture the complete range of stamping dies and moulds which are needed in the manufacturing process.

In order to adapt the fabrication to the increasingly high standards of global economy, our main goal is to detect all the resources and find the means to continuously improve the quality and the manufacturing capacity. Therefore, in the 2010 budget, 200000 EURO have been allocated for investment in new machinery, including two die-stamping machines, a CNC-autolathe, a wire E.D.M. and a strip-cutting machine. As for the foreseeable future, we also intend to extend our present production facilities by adding a new workshop to the existing premises, all on our account.
