Company description

Who we are

We at Scilla Meccanica have been melting, casting, and machining mechanical components made of bronze, brass, and aluminum ever since the early 80s. The comprehensive, yet highly flexible approach we adopted in the light of and in order to best cater to our customers needs allows for quick response times, high quality, and unparalleled cost-effectiveness.
Our two separate production departments and 70 highly skilled craftsmen and technicians manufacture full and hollow shell-cast parts 24-7 (the hollows being the result of sand core insertion or centrifugal casting), and machine shell as well as continuous-cast components.
Besides being UNI EN ISO 9001:2008 certified, we have two separate quality assurance departments specializing in chemical and dimensional checks, respectively.

Our foundry

Our foundry delivers bronze, brass, and aluminum parts such as:
- Bronze bearings and bushings
- Strips
- Plates, clips, and rails
- Cages for bearings
- Rings, crowns, and flanges
all of which ranging in size from 10 all the way to 2000 mm and intended for applications such as industrial, naval, and construction site machinery, mining equipment, steel plants, and hydraulic monitors and taps.
Our nimbly organized, high-capacity production departments enable us to quickly deliver one-of-a-kind pieces as well as large-scale batches.

Mechanical processing

In order to ensure high-end quality in all processes, we equipped our mechanical processing department with a wide array of tools including CNC machines, machining centers, milling machines, traditional horizontal and vertical lathes, and EDM machines.

Our chemistry lab

Equipped as it is with quantometers and durometers for destructive and non-destructive tests, our laboratory performs highly accurate in-process as well as post-melting checks to ensure our alloys meet the highest possible standards.

Our metrology lab

To ensure full compliance with customer specifications, all finished, drawing-based mechanical parts undergo painstaking start-up as well as end-stage inspections. Besides, all taps and hydraulic monitors are also pressure-tested.
