Company description

In the 1960s, the water-jet technology was first used in American aircraft industry for composites, honeycomb and laminated materials. The water pressure was then already 700 bar.
A beginning was made and in the early 1970s were water jet pressures up to 4000 bar possible.
In the early 1980s, the first time the solid particles, which are called abrasive, hizugegeben and accelerated by the fast water jet were.
The abrasive waterjet it was now possible to cut virtually any material.
Pure water jet cutting
When pure water jet cutting a pure water jet for cutting soft materials used.
Kerf width from 0.03 mm

Waterjet
The water jet is used in Abrasivstrahltechnik as an energy source for the acceleration of the abrasive. The higher the speed with which the solid particles impinge on the cut, the higher the abrasion. The high pressure and the close exit nozzle, the water jet is extremely fast. At 4000 bar about 800 m / s, which corresponds to a speed of 2880 km / h.
Waterjet cutting can not quite erstetzen other manufacturing methods such as thermal cutting processes, machining, punching or eroding natural. However, it is so very often find a more rational way to edit the materials.
