I have a Quel Account. What happens now?

For all former Quel-users we offer a special service. We will transfer your data from Quel to Techpilot with just a single click. You will receive an Email in the next days in which you can find the link. A click activates your Techpilot account and you can directly start using Techpilot. This account if absolutely free of costs with no strings attached.


I have not received an e-mail to activate my account?

If you have a Quel-account and you have not yet received an Email, we apologize for that. Just give us a call and we will help your directly and personally.

When can I start using Techpilot after the transition?

As soon as you have activated your account, you can start using Techpilot. All buyer functionality such as Supplier Search and Easy RFQ is active from the beginning. If you are a supplier and you are interested in receiving attractive RFQs in your specific manufacturing technologies, please get in touch with us.


Do I need to register newly on Techpilot?

No, you don’t need to register newly on Techpilot as we will transfer already your Quel-Account information to Techpilot. You will receive an e-mail with a link to “claim your account”. With a simple click you will activate your Techpilot account and receive new login data.


How can I login to Techpilot?

You will receive an e-mail with a link to “activate your account”. By clicking this you activate your Techpilot account and you will receive new login data automatically.

Is Techpilot for free?

Your registration or activation on Techpilot is completely free of costs and with no strings attached. Furthermore Techpilot is free for buyers at any time. Techpilot is funded entirely by membership fees of suppliers. In addition, Techpilot does not charge any commission in the contract award process.


How can I send my RFQ on Techpilot?

Our Easy-RFQ offers a fast and easy way to publish your job requirements within minutes. With just a few clicks you can send your RFQ to selected suppliers or publish it on the marketplace.


How many suppliers will receive my request?

Techpilot offers two options to send your RFQ to matching suppliers. You can search for suitable suppliers yourself and send the RFQ directly. Alternatively you can publish your RFQ on the Techpilot marketplace, which is accessible only for suppliers who are technically capable to meet your requirements. Therefore only matching suppliers receive your request.


Is my drawing visible for everyone?

No, because you decide who is allowed to see your drawing. In the case of direct RFQs, only selected suppliers are allowed to see the drawing. On the marketplace, only suppliers of matching technologies can see your drawing. You also have the option to request a signed non-disclosure agreement (NDA) before you grant access to your drawing.


Does it matter if don’t fill out my company profile in all five languages?

No, absolutely not. We will help you and translate together with Google Translate all missing languages. But if you are in possession of German and/or English texts, please use them, as the automated translations will never be as good as original texts.


What if I have no interest in German RFQs?

We have already some Dutch RFQs as well and we do our best to attract more buying volume from the Netherlands. And please consider that we have also many RFQs in English, which might be an option for you as well.

How much does Techpilot cost?

Your registration or activation on Techpilot is completely free of costs with no strings attached. For suppliers who are interested in receiving RFQs we charge a modest annual subscription fee for our Premium membership. Prices depend on technology area, run times and further company criteria. Contact us for more details.


Shall I contact the buyer who placed and RFQ additionally to my quote?

We can clearly say “yes”. We often got the feedback that buyers appreciate it if suppliers contact them, then all questions around the offer can be answered and some soft questions as well. Furthermore it opens the opportunity to position you as a friendly and supportive supplier. And this goes never out of date.


How many RFQs from the Netherlands are placed on Techpilot?

We have already some Dutch RFQs and we do our best to attract more buying volume from the Netherlands. In the next weeks we will speak to many former Quel-users and we expect a constant increase of Dutch RFQs in the next weeks and months.

Will Techpilot charge a commission in the contract award process?

Techpilot is not financially involved in the award of contracts in any way and we are entirely funded by membership fees. That way we avoid conflicts of interest and ensure optimal and neutral support.


How can I make an offer on Techpilot?

You can enter and send your quote to buyers online quickly and easily within your Techpilot account. Please note that buyers cannot use our convenient quote comparison tool unless the offer was sent via Techpilot.


How many suppliers compete for the RFQs?

We will display the number of quotes, so in case of large numbers you can decide yourself if you still want to submit your offer.


How many contracts are awarded on Techpilot?

Over 15 years of experience have shown that most requests are leading to contract awards. Of course, not all RFQs refer to new parts, since buyers sometimes test price and quality of already existing relationships. But even in this case we experienced that many RFQs will result in contracts.


How can I increase the chances of being found by buyers?

Keep your company profile on Techpilot as accurate as possible and make full use of images and detailed listings of your machinery. You will also benefit from emphasizing your key competences, since buyers are usually looking for suppliers with special expertise in the production of parts, rather than generalists mastering all production technologies and dimensions.
