The OFB-Kimax is a small electroplating plant with a long tradition. Electroplating was carried out at the site 100 years ago. Belonging to the Armaturenwerk during GDR times, after the fall of the Wall, the electroplating went to Grohe and later to Siedle Hot-Formed Parts, which then wanted to close the factory site in 2016. This was prevented by 3 former employees who decided to join forces with a regional investor and founded today's OFB Kimax in 2017. Since that time, electroplating has generated over 80% of its turnover from the sanitary sector through grinding, polishing and chrome-plating of fittings.
