Company description

Today's Schmiedag GmbH has its origins in the blacksmith shop, founded in 1824 at the Hagen-Eckesey location by Peter Dallhaus. 1873 arose from this the Grüntaler iron Werke AG and in 1928 the Schmiedag AG, an engineering company with integrated tank and several plants in Hagen was founded. In the same year, founded in 1905, Schwinn AG, a stamp shop based in Homburg / Saar, was acquired by the Schmiedag AG. 1931 bought the Hoesch AG on the two companies and merged in 1968 with the ferrous Rothe Erde for Hoesch Rothe-earth Schmiedag AG.

1991 locations Hagen and Homburg by the Ascometal SA, the USINOR Group in Paris were associated, adopted and established the Ascoforge group. Since 12.3.1999 the Schmiedag GmbH is an independent company linking Georgsmarienhütte Holding GmbH.
