Our Story: The company was founded in 1994 by Heinz-Josef Schlemmer as a sole proprietorship on part-time basis. The basis was the further handling of turned parts in wages for the turned parts industry. After a short time the first cam-type machines were put into operation, it was followed by the acquisition of a property with about 150 m2 of commercial space. In the year 2000/2002 and 2004 made further purchases of CNC lathes, whereby the premises were again too tight. In the year 2005 is Mr. Schlemmer the opportunity to acquire the company Johann Schnekenburger GmbH, where he was employed full since 1983. The company JDS, which was founded in 1950 by Johann Schnekenburger and until 2005 was in the second generation of family ownership, was for more than 50 years in the field of fastening technology on the market.     In 1982, Peter Sedlak, the CNC machining technology with an employee and three machines in Schwäbisch Hall. Were produced turned parts in small and medium-sized batches. Over the next few years, additional machines were added. The number of employees rose steadily. An increased demand for pre-finished parts made the first purchase of a conventional milling machine and a CNC machining center later inevitable. So it was always close in the rented hall and the desire to own a larger hall and getting stronger. In December 1991, finally, the company moved to Untermünkheim-Enslingen so that in January 1992, production could be included in the new hall. The economic downturn slowed in subsequent years, the growth of the company. But it soon went up again. Until 2000, all machines were replaced with new, more modern. In 2000, the certification according to DIN EN ISO 9002 was carried out. As of January 2002, the company operates under a new name. Peter Sedlak and his longtime collaborator and master Friedrich Schiele founded the Hohenlohe precision parts GmbH. Today, 12 employees produce pre-finished parts and assemblies for many satisfied customers from different industries. Various grinding work, as well as heat and surface treatments we have them implemented by competent and reliable partners.     The OFB-Kimax is a small electroplating plant with a long tradition. Electroplating was carried out at the site 100 years ago. Belonging to the Armaturenwerk during GDR times, after the fall of the Wall, the electroplating went to Grohe and later to Siedle Hot-Formed Parts, which then wanted to close the factory site in 2016. This was prevented by 3 former employees who decided to join forces with a regional investor and founded today's OFB Kimax in 2017. Since that time, electroplating has generated over 80% of its turnover from the sanitary sector through grinding, polishing and chrome-plating of fittings. Since the beginning of the year, we have also been offering the restoration of classic car parts. Coatings with copper, nickel and chrome can therefore currently be produced on aluminum, steel and non-ferrous metal, including mechanical pre-processing. We are now back in a state of upheaval and are opening a new chapter in the history of the location. We are currently in the process of reorienting ourselves both in terms of shareholder composition and on the market and would like to add new processes to our portfolio.     C. Melchers & Co. was established on January 1, 1806 in Bremen, where the global company still maintains its headquarters to this very day. In the first few decades of the company’s history, over 30 ships sailed the oceans of the world under the Melchers flag, linking the ports of Europe, America and the Pacific. In the 1860s, C. Melchers & Co set up operations in Asia, where all its trading interests swiftly moved. At the same time, with the onset of steam ships, it abandoned its own shipping business to devote itself entirely to extending its trading operations. 1866 saw the establishment of the first branch in Hong Kong, in the wake of which China began to develop into a key lynchpin for the company’s business. The ensuing decades were a period of rapid growth for Melchers in China, with over 2,000 people employed at 12 branches and plants throughout the country. The First World War proved to be a setback for business relations, although business quickly recovered. It was not until the end of the Second World War in 1945 that business came to an almost complete halt. Even so, the company continued to survive, re-opening its first branches in Hong Kong, Singapore and Kuala Lumpur in the early fifties and gradually extending its branch network across Asia. Following the opening of the Chinese markets at the end of the seventies, Melchers set up branches here again, underscoring the significance of Chinese business for the company. With the establishment of a branch in San Francisco in the early eighties, the company also started to engage in US-Asian trade so as to gain a share of the rapidly growing trading relations between these two regions. Trade with China remains a key focus of the company’s overall business, comprising as it does imports of special natural products and finished goods on the one hand and exports of plant, machinery and supplies for the Asian industry on the other. Yet, business with South East Asia has since also come to the fore, with the company amassing broad-based expertise in marketing and selling consumer goods in particular. There are special departments for each article group in Bremen as well as at the foreign branches. They work largely independently within the overall company and are staffed by highly qualified experts.
